Evaluation
In this unit, i had to be the VT operator for a show that we would
have to perform live. the tasks that i had to do was to be make sure
that all of the pre recorded videos would be played at the right time
and to make sure that they are in order. there was seven videos that i
had to play on time which was the inrto, the rundown of the show, all
three music vidoes, the news and the cha cha slide video. the intro had
to played at the beginning of the show so i had to make sure to play it
at the right time when everyone is ready, then shortly after was the
rundown of the show at 00:48 which had small chips of other videos that
will be played during the show. after the rundown i had to get ready to
play the first music video and i had 16 seconds to get it ready befor i
would play it at 01:51. the interview was next on the list of videos
that i had to play, i had to play the video straight after the interview
with Guneet at 07:28. i then played the second music video at 10:30,
then i had to play the third music video at 21.10. after was the news
that i played at 27:03 that was followed by the final video which was
the cha cha slide that was played at 28:21. i had to make sure that all
of the videos was played in the right order but also know the duration
of each video so i could let the presenters know when they would have to
be ready to do their part. The final production went very well and i
hought that we all worked really well as a team because we all had to
rely on eachother to move on to the next task but also that we helped
eachother when we needed help. on the live day, there were good
comunication between the director and other crew members such as the
camera operators and the vision mixer. i also had to make communication
with the director because i had to tell him when each video would finish
so that he could tell the other casts and crew members to get ready and
in poition. this is important becasue the timing of the show would be
good but also that there would not be any problems. I think that the
show in a whole was very good and to me, it was better than expected
because there was work that was not finished and also some of the team
members was confused on what to do. without the whole team's
cooperation, the show would not be as good as it was and we managed to
sold the problems that we had encountered. everyone knew what they had
to do and where they had to be and also clear on what will happen next,
this was the reason why the show turned out to be good.
A VT operator would is a person that is in control of all the video tapes that has been recorded before and is resposible to play the videos in the right order and the right time. the VT operator would have to know set up and prepare the equpitments that he would have to use but also know clearly what is happening in the show so that he would know when to play each video. the skills that a vt operator need is a good communication skill and also organisation skill to have all the videos in order and in the right place. I have met these expectations because i had good comunication skills as i had to communicate to the director and also the vision mixer to know when i should play the next video and also when the video will finish. another strength would be that i have good organisation skills as i had all the videos in order from which video would have to be played the first to the last so that i would be clear on what to do. the third strength that i had was timing which is because i had to play each video at the right time which was when the presenter says so, i had to pay attention carefully to see when i had to put on each video. the areas that i could have improved on was also a little bit of timing because at some time, i had played a few videos either too early or too late. also, i thought that i could of been more ready for the show by going over what i had to exactly do, one example would be that i could time how long everything is but also going through everything that will be happening in the show. another weakness would also be problem solving because there was some minor problems such as before every video, there was static a second after the logo, but i was not able to fix it. a difficulty that i had during the start show from the beginning to 05:45 i had to play three video to play and i only had a few seconds between me to get the next video ready to play. to solve this problem, i had to find out how long each of my video was but also how long i had between me to change the video, i found out that there was an 8 second long opening sequence after the intro to get the rundown ready to play and aproximatly 15 seconds after the rundown to get the first music ready to play. i also kelp timing myself to see if i was doing it on time.
i have gined a variety of skills from the show, the skills that i have gained and improved are:
this is a jonathan ross interview with vin diesel and this is a professional show. an example of practical in this video is from 04:50 to 05:05 which cuts from a angles shot of both the presenter and the guest then to the guest when he is talking then to the presenter when he is talking then to another angled show of both of them. multi camera on her is used to capture every action on the show and also to guide the audience by the facial expressions of the presenter. another example would be 11:15 to 11:50 where vin diesel gets up to record a message, that was unexpected and with only one camera, that would not be caught in a shot but becasue there are many other cameras, there are shots from different angles of it.
an aesthetic reason would be at 09:50 on the m&m challenge. i thought that this was a good shot because everything was in this shot such as the presenter, a good amount of background, the guests and the m&m. the shot makes the audience enjoy the action but also it makes them feel more pulled in to what is happening and also enjoy the atmosphear.

- timing because i had to get timings of everything that was happening such as the opening sequence so that i would know how long i have to get the next video ready but also the timeing in my videos so it would know how long they each are.
- confidence because I have participated in something that I would not usually do and because it has been a success I feel proud and also know that I could do something if I set my mind to it.
- i now know what it is like to work in a live show and also know the atmosphere to it. this gave me the skill to work under pressure to get the work doing in a set date and but also I know what being a VT operator is like and what they do.

cha cha slide
this is a pre recorded clip that will be played on the show. i have helped in making this clip by looking for people to record to do the cha cha slide. we had to make sure that the dance was in synch with the song so that it will look like they are dancing to the song in the video.
rundown
this is the rundown that i have made for the show. the rundown is a variety of clips from the show that will be played in the start of the show. this is for the audience to know what will be happening in the show and also know what the presenters have in stalled for the audience. i have taken clips from each music video that we will be using and also other pre recorded clips such as the cha cha slide and the interview.
Intro
this is the intro that i have made for the live show. i have included photos of the artist that we will use and also some instruments and musical equipments such as a mic. I have also made the video cut to the beat because it would be more effective.

production reflection 4
This week I have finished the opening montage of the show which shows small chunks of each music video that we will be using but also parts from the cha-cha dance and the interview that Shaker did. I had to only add in the indents into the video and make sure that I had everything and that the video was good enough to play. I also helped Gareth in recording the cha-cha slide. The thing that has been successful this week was getting all the work done and also finishes getting all the footage of the cha-cha slide because we could not find a lot of people that would do it. I would need to develop the opening mintage a little more tweaks. Next week I would need to make sure I have all the footage and also make sure that all the clips are in right order.

Production meeting reflection 2
I have been looking over each music video and getting the timing for each one and also working out how long my opening montage is going to be. I was also looking for potential small clips that I could use in the montage and also finding out what will be done for about the pre-production videos that I could also add onto the montage. I would need to know all the clips and how long they would be so that each clip would fit the time of the opening montage; this would have to be done by next week.

plan
For Shakira's video, we could use a clip from 01.05 to 01.13 when she is dancing and shouting at the camera. i could also use the end part of the video when she walks away to show that her part of the video is finished and it will also be clear that Shakira's video is finished and that there will be another music video playing next.

For Gareth's video, we could use the footage from the 00:53 to 00:56 where jared walks up to the Famera. because there is a good background and i think it would work well as he is looking into the camera and lip-synching. otherwise we could use 01:07 to 01:10 because that is also a good shot and would work well.

for Ted's and Hollie's video, we could use a clip from 01:45 to 01:48 where Alice and the blow up doll are having a dinner together. i thought that this footage would be good to use because it more or less explains the music video where there is a girl dating a blow up doll. the other option is to use the clip from 02.44 to 02:48 which is where Alice and the blow up doll is going around in a circle.

production meeting reflection 3
this week i had to finish the opening montage and and getting making sure that everything with the video is good such as the chosen song and if the video is the right length and also if it cuts to the beat. for the video i have chosen small 3 second clips from each music video and i have also included an interview. i have also though about adding the some other pre-recorded videos such as the cha-cha slide but i would need to ask the directer of what he thinks first. next week i would be making an opening for the m&m challenge and also i would be helping in getting footage or people dancing to the cha-cha slide and also fixing up in my gray areas so that everything is up to date and that the team and i are clear of what i have done so far and what could be improved on.

Production Meeting Reflection
Summaries how the production meeting ran
I thought that the production meeting was good as I knew what I could improve on and what my strongest idea was. Other people from the group also shared their idea for the show and this gave me a chance to get new ideas and to see what new ideas they have come up with. I thought that every individual had very unique idea and they all had different strength in different area and this is good because we could put in the ideas together to make a final piece. However, I thought that I didn't say everything that I could and that I didn't get my whole idea across.
What was the group’s response to your idea?
There were areas in the idea that I could have improved or that I didn't think through. One of the feedbacks that I had was that I did not involve the audience in the show a lot such as in the competitions. If I could have improved that idea, I would have thought of better games that the guests could play but also include the audience. There were some good ideas from my idea of the show and could be improved by merging it with the ideas of other people in the group. One example of this would be that I had an idea of having pain splashes included in the walls, but that idea could be merged in another person’s idea such as having the paint splashes on the chairs.
Whose idea did you vote for?
I voted for Becks idea because it is different to other shows and also it took my interests and sounded like it would be a good show to watch.
What did you like about the idea?
I like the idea of getting two couples to rap against each other because it is a new idea and I am sure that it would be successful as most of the audiences would like it because it is what most people of 14- 20 year olds listen to and it would also be fun to watch.
What aspects related to the brief?
the idea related to the brief such as aiming it towards young British adults and teenagers but also being creative and thinking of new ideas that would make the show unique.
What areas did you think needed development?
The idea does not seem to involve a whole lot of music genres and is nor varied. The show seems to be based on just rap, rip-hop and R’n’B. one example of this would be this would be the rap battle, even though it is a great example, the majority of the show is mostly based on my genre.
What other ideas did people have that you think could be incorporated into the final idea?
Another idea that is really good was Hollie’s idea of having a puppet as the host. This would make the show unique because there are not a lot of other shows that do that. Another of her great idea was to have an MnM contest where the guest have to try eating the most MnM’s with a chopstick.

music video pitch
Programme format
Title of show
I have chosen the title “Show Stopper” because it sounds like something simple but different. I have focused more on the design of the title than the actual name because the design is more as the design could show more about the show such as the theme and colour scheme. The design that I have created stands out and at the same time it relates to the age group that it is aimed at which is 14-20 year old. I thought that having it in a circle would make it better because it would not just be simply words on its own, it would have some designs on it and it would also be memorable from other logos and titles. The main colours that I have used are black and red and that is because they go against one another so it would come out clear.
Content ideas
Audience
Presenters
I thought of either having just one male presenter or two female presenters because just having one male would be easier however it would affect the show because then less females would watch it as they might think it is a show just for boys. Having two presenters, one male and one female would level it out and it also might make more people like it because it might relate to more people. The presenters would be in charge of the competitions that will take place and they could be a helper or guild for the teams to win. There would be two teams, one male and one female because then more people would want to watch because they would want to know who will win. The presenters would have to be in a fun mood and always keep everything good and in order.

Artists
The artist will be interviewed by the presenter so that the audience will know the latest news on what is happening in the music industry. The songs of the artist would be playing throughout the show. The presenter would be asking the artist about the career s/he has taken and the journey they have made, this is because the audience will then know the history and background of the artist and more about him that the audience would not see in other shows. The presenter could also read tweets that people have sent to ask the artist that he can answer and this would keep the audience watching because they could also ask the artist a question and be involved.
Running order
the first part of the show would be the the presenter and artists and interviewing them on their career, lifestyle and questions from the audience. there will be slow cuts because at first the mood will be calm because it would be relaxed but then it gets exciting. after the interview, there would be the competition that has three different parts to it. the presenter would be counting the scores on a score board, there would be two teams where both artists play against each other. the first part of the competition is called "guess the name" which is when both the artist try get the name of the name of the song playing first. there would be three rounds on each part of the competitions. the second part of the competition is to finish the line of a song where there would be a song playing then it would randomly stop and the artist would have to finish the line of the song. the last part of the competition is where the artists would have to guess the artist of each song that is playing and from there, the presenter would show who is the winner of the competition. then after the competition, there would be something that is similar to "room 101" where the artist would have to banish a song that they dislike and say why. then there would be a five minute video to show the top 10 song then after, there would be more fun questions that the artist would have to answer from the audience.
Sketch of background
The colour scheme would be bright, filled white so it would be the right because it might give out a good feel to the show. The main colours in the background would be red, blue, and white and with black outlines because it would stand out and having dark colours would not give a good feeling. As you can see, I am trying to spread an excitement, happy and lively mood so that the audience would be more interested in the show.
this is a sketch of the stage. the blue circle is the presenter and the other red and pink circles are the artists. the square in the middle is the table and this is how i would want the stage to look like because it is not too complicated.
In the back ground of the stage, there would be instruments or including an object or prop that is related to music so I could include some instruments or some designs of music notes on the wall. This will instantly make the viewer know what the theme and what the show are about. However the stage should be too simple because it would be too common so I thought about adding photos of instruments or concerts and other music artists. instead of wallpaper, the room would be filled with photos of artists, instruments, concerts and there would be colours everywhere.
this would be the type of look that i would want the stage to look like because it is full of action and it is not too simple and just filled with the same design, there are various photos that all relate to English.

this is the type of chair that would be in the show because it is simple but also looks good. the colour of the chair is red which goes with my colour scheme and it would fit in well in the stage.

Visual style
The visual style that I will be using with the camera will include various if shots that will change all the time from a close up to long shot of each one of the presenter and the artist. However I am limited to this because I will only be using three cameras so I would have to think of shots I will be able to do because having a birds eye view of the studio because it is far fetched. I will make sure that I will include the aesthetic views of the shot so it will be the very best. I will do this by making sure that each shot is shown to the best standards such as the camera being in the right angles to get a shot. I am aiming to get every shot the best and by doing this, there would have to be a lot of movements and cuts to keep the viewer watching because having the same shot would not be very entertaining for them, but I will also make the shots to be unique so that it captures the emotions.

Audience
The age group that the show is aimed at is 14 to 20 year old. It would be hard to focus the show on one specific music genre because different people would be listening to different types of songs as they have different interests. This would make it hard to make everyone relate to something at the same time. However, to avoid this problem, the show could just focus on entertainment that relates to music such as the latest news about the artist and adding games that would be fun on both sides of the story.
Presenters
I thought of either having just one male presenter or two female presenters because just having one male would be easier however it would affect the show because then less females would watch it as they might think it is a show just for boys. The presenters would have to be in a fun mood and always keep everything good and in order.
Competitions
I thought about adding a game which both the artists could play against each other and the interviewer would count the score in a leader board. The games that they could be playing would be having a number of different songs playing and they would have to guess which each one is. The competitions that will be in the show would be small games such as guessing the name of the song that will be playing, guessing the artist and finishing the line of a few songs. I have also thought about adding a game that is similar to “room 101.” The artist would have to choose something that s/he dislikes to put inside the box and say why. They could choose any song that they do not like. This would keep the viewer entertained because they will want to know and they would be curious to know which teams win.

Artists
The artist will be interviewed by the presenter so that the audience will know the latest news on what is happening in the music industry. Camera
I think that there should be some movement in the cameras but not too much because then the shots would not look very good because each camera is focused on one person and having too much movement would make the audience not know what is happening. However, being in the right position in the right angle would not need to have movement because they are already filming what they are supposed to. There needs to be a lot of cuts to the other camera because then it would look more professional but it would depend on the mood of the show because if it is exciting, there would need to be fast cuts but if it is calm, there would need to be slow cuts. Having the camera in the right angle would also capture better shots because you would get all of the action than just a part of the action.

The graphics would be bold with some but there should not be too much happening in the graphics because the target audience is 14-20 years old and having childish graphics would not make the older viewers interested in the show. However the graphics should be eye catching so I thought of using graphics at the start of the show when every individual is introduced and also having texts in the bottom. The graphics could come in the screen popping up or fade it or come from the top, right, left or bottom.
i thought that this type of paint splatter design would look good in the show, so having it when the show starts and the paint splatters on the screen saying the show name or would be a good. this would relate more into the younger viewers because there are a lot of colours but the older viewers might be interested as well depending on their interests.
this is the type of typography that i thought of having that will show different parts of the show. for example, when its time for the competition, the typography would come up before each competition to say the name of the game.
Presentation style
the presentation style for the show would be more exciting and fast paced because it it more likely to get the audience if it is fun than calm and slow. However , it would be more interesting to the younger viewers and not the older. having a more lively show would be more engaging to the audience would keep watching it. to get the majority of the audience interested and watching the show, there could always be different genred song playing in the background and it would vary from genre to genre so that most of the audience would enjoy the show. however, the mood of the presenters and the artists would be calm because then they both will be relaxed but then also lively at times so that they can keep the fun moon of the show.
